Setting up Wireless Network

Specs: Windows Vista, intel core 2 duo 2 gb RAM
How do I setup a wireless network with my new dell laptop to a linksys g router? I have looked online and all these tutorial websites are shwoing that I need to have a PC too in order for the router to work and I do not have one.

Normally it is easier to set up a wireless network via a wired connection to begin with. If you laptop has an Ethernet Network Interface which most do, then you can use that via Cat 5 cable to initially configure the wireless router and remove it once it is done. Doesn't have to be a PC.

It is possible to configure a wireless router via wireless using default values but things have to be done in a set sequence otherwise you can get yourself tied in knots.

Umm, a Dell laptop with Windows Vista installed would be considered a "PC". What do you mean, "...I do not have one."?
