Probably ping is discarded in the windows firewall of your windows xp pc.

I found solution here..

It was my FIREWALL which was blocking the communication between two computers.

I just turned off the firewall in(INTERNET SECURITY TOOL).]

and also windows firewall. now its working fine for me..

thanks to all.

✔ Best Answer
Best way is to configure the firewall, to allow the services you need.
Nothing more, nothing less.
