Every time I run my security software it "removes" TDSS.e!rootkit and "deletes" XCPT-HOOK1 - but it never gets rid of them entirely. My PC is currently cut off from the Internet for no apparent reason - can these viruses by the cause? How can I get my computer back onto the Internet when I cannot use it to search the Internet?
Search the registry for those items. Delete them from there. How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
Probably you did not clean the virus or malware completely, advise you to use different virus or malware scanning tool to scan your computer again. If you lose Internet connection, it might due to faulty Winsock catalog after cleaning the virus, you might use this Winsockfix to fix it.
Hope this helps.
