Solved Seagate Central HDD via WiFi router access problem

December 25, 2013 at 18:56:26
Specs: Windows 8.1
I have a seagate central harddrive that I want to connect to my tv and other seagate external harddrive so that we can access it by family members without having to move the hard drive from one area to another. I cannot seem to remote access the drive because when I first register it and set it up, it never ask me for a username and password. Now I don't know how to fix it or reset it so that I can start over. Someone mention connecting the hard drive directly using an ethernet, but I don't know how to do that. Can someone help me please? I have ITB of songs, pictures, and home movies on it.

Connect the drive to your router with an ethernet cable, same type of cable you use to connect your PC to the router.

Hi larryloco5,
You said you had registered the Seagatecentral device. Try accessing it with a browser. Go to access.Seagate.com

There's an option to reset your password too.
