Specs: Samsung smart TV
I purchased a samsung 6 series 75" smart TV.

I have connected it to the router via Ethernet cable. Internet connection is great.

I also had a 2tb hard drive plugged into router, my PC can see had and I also have 50" in kids room and 50" in my room running wd media players and they can also see hd plugged in router.

Why can't my new $4000 smart TV see the hard drive in router but my $120 western digital players can.

Please help as I don't want to buy another wd I should be able to just access the he over the network.

I can use all share or smart view to play from the hard drive but you need to leave PC/laptop running which I don't want to do as I want it to be easy to turn on and play like wd player

It's just the way things are. Samsung TVs aren't set up to access network shared drives, only files served by a media server. But theyncan access drives plugged into their USB ports.
