Safari and Firefox won't work

October 31, 2011 at 17:37:17
Specs: Windows 7, 3.00GB
Whenever I try to use Firefox, no matter what website I try to go to, I get the message that firefox can't connect to the server. Whenever I try to go on safari, I get the message that it can't connect to the internet. However, when I use Opera, everything works fine, so it's not something wrong with my internet.
At the same time, the website omegle stopped working for me, I don't know if this is related.
When I open firefox, I also get the message "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined". I don't know what that means, but it's probably involved.
Can someone PLEASE help?

run a scan with malwarebytes see if it finds anything and remove it.

Are the browers set to use a proxy by mistake?

How do I check to see if they're set to use a proxy?

Actually I found out how. I was set up to connect to a proxy, so i unchecked that, but it still doesn't work. I also downloaded the malware program and ran the test and deleted the malware. Firefox still isn't working. What else could be the problem?

Now you have fixed the malware uninstall and re-install Firefox with the latest version.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
