Router Ext. HD has workgroup address?

Asus Wl-520gu wireless router

Specs: Windows XP

I am wondering if when a External HD is plugged into devices such as: Asus WL-520GU Router, WL-500G Router & RT-N13U Router, if they show up on a windows network like a computer would.

In more simple terms, I am looking to make a Ext. HD connected to one of those Asus model routers act exactly like a drive connected to the computer directly.

I'm just wondering if It will show up as a device in my windows (network) workgroup so that I can sync files to and from it just like any other computer. So that I can click on a file and open it like when I am looking at shared files on any other workgroup computer.

Thanks so much!

This should be clearly explained in the routers documentation.

Yes it is a shared device and should be advertized on your network for you to access as you describe.
