|On a home LAN, one computer out of 4 (all running XP Pro SP3) every few days loses Internet Browser Capability. I can still ping and use VM Ware to connect to my employer's server, but all browsers become unable to connect. The remaining 3 computers have no trouble with browser Internet connection, EVER, even when the one problematic computer is experiencing connectivity issues.|
Using the run command and entering CMD, I enter the following commands to restore browser connectivity after a restart which will last for a few days up to a week when the problem again resurfaces:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset catalog
I have not tried XP Winsock fix as I was led to believe that it merely does automatically what I have just described with manual CMD commands. Is this a correct assumption?
This problem's been going on for months now and does not appear to be getting any worse, but is annoying nonetheless. Scans with Malwarebytes and Webroot Secure Anywhere come up negative.
