Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, AMD X6 1055 2.8GHz 12 Gb RAM
How do I change the name of my network to something which makes sense? I can get into 192.168.1.1, but then what?

change WHAT network?

your workgroup name?
your wireless SSID name?

since you mention router I have to guess SSID. You will find that on the wireless setup page.

wireless name... when wired to the router... eh?

Ya gotta make up your mind as to which you are talking about.
if connecting wirelessly then you change the ssid in the router.
if connecting wired then change the name of the workgroup.

lookup your routers manual and change the ssid
lookup via google windows7 change workgroup name for how to do that.

Once you have decided on which is the issue you want to change.

Sorry if I am not being clear - it's because I am not clear myself. I have a computer, wired to a router, and when online I just see a " Network Internet Access" message. When I use my laptop Wi-Fi, connecting to the same router, I see a network name. My question is whether I can easily change it to something more relevant. If the fact that I need to ask suggests that it is beyond me, please tell me!
