SEARCH YOUR MACHINE FOR THE WORD "searchqu", and you'll see what folder it's in. My case, it appears that the website SaveVid.com installs searchqu engine, and so I went to c:/programfiles/Windows_SaveVid_Toolbar/ anc click "uninstall.exe".
AMEN

When I tried to change my home page an advice box appeared VERY quickly in the bottom right of my screen advising me that my change of homepage had been blocked. I finally managed to click on this advice box which gave a settings option. I ticked "allow homepage from a third party" and changed it back to Google. So far so good all seems to be running well

Download and run SuperAntiSpyware - it's free. It found that my Home Page in IE had been changed and asked if I wanted to revert to my original Home Page setting. Didn't need HiJackThis, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware or run anything in Safe Mode.
