receiving wrong ip address

Sandra Morgan February 4, 2009 at 10:30:03
Specs: Windows XP
All of my machines have DHCP enabled. The naming convention for my ip addresses are 192.168.1 but I am having problems with machines grabbing ip's of 192.168.0. Obviously this is keeping them from connecting to the netork. Everytime I release, flushdns and then renew the ip address the same 192.168.0 address keeps coming up. I have checked my dhcp paramaters and it appears to be set to issue the correct ip address range. Please help. So frustrated.

Is the unit this is happening on a laptop that has a wireless NIC enabled and set to DHCP?

Sounds like perhaps you have two dhcp servers on your network or as CurtR suggests you are connecting to someone elses wireless.
