Specs: Linux
I have this controller but it will not automatically search for my WiFi. Is this not used for WiFi?

I thought when I bought this that is what it does.

✔ Best Answer
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is not for a wireless connection.

It is for a wired connection using an ethernet cable connected from your computer's ethernet port to your modem or router.

Please confirm that the computer you are working on really is Linux. If so you might do better on the Linux forum, so if you don't get many answers maybe we can get it shifted.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi thank you for your response. I am not sure how I ended up on the Linux forum, but needless to say you have answered my question. I'm going to have to go out and buy a USB adapter today. I was sort of able to figure that out online but thanks for the confirmation. I used to be very good at computer stuff but it seems the older I get the more I fall behind lol.

Nope you were on the Networking forum, it's just that your spec said Linux.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
