Specs: ddwrt
In DDWRT is the "auto" option the best choice under wireless>basic settings> and then under the options "Wireless Channel" and "Channel Width"?

I prefer a manual channel setting. 1, 6 and 11 are favoured to prevent overlapping. Check for the strongest local signal from others and make yours at least 5 channels away. You didn't state your operating system, so if the information about other channels is not given download a freebie program get that for you.

The problem with Auto is that if the power fails it can then grab any old channel after restart and you might end up on the same one as your nearest neighbour.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

✔ Best Answer
Adjusting the band and channel can improve your wireless connection if you hit the sweet spot, or it can make it worse. There is no perfect answer. It all depends on your surroundings. This article may help.
