Hi,

I'm having big trouble sorting out my home network, with connection from an ADSL linksys modem to the internet port of a D-Link DIR-655 Router.

I have created a visio drawing of the set up as it stands. Most likely some fundamental errors in how ive set things up caus im a bit of a novice.

Visio link below:

Please help!!

Cheers

This normally should work, if your workstations will get an IP address of 192.168.0.x, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, DNS 192.168.0.254, gateway 192.168.0.254.

Try a tracert google.com to see, at what stage it gets stuck.

You can also switch the AM200 in bridging mode.
In this case your D-Link DIR655 must be configure with the public static ip. AM2000 only acts as a modem and passes through all the traffic to your router. So no firewall or filters will work at the AM200.
Everthing has to be filtered at the D-Link router.
