Specs: Windows XP, 2g
My Goal:
To manually send DHCP/PXE boot info to a pxe client (preferably through commandline for scripting purposes).

My companies network is huge and I was told that setting up PXE servers would'nt be possible for liablilty reasons.

So far, I've used a few packet capturing apps (wireShark,ip tools, etc) and saved the 2 packets during a PXE session that i need to replay (2 from my understanding).. The Offer packet and the Ack Packet. Both coming from the server to the PXE client. Disabled the DHCP server and left the tftp server on and then tried a few cap file replay programs and that seem to work as far as replaying the data over the network but the PXE client will never boot. It's like it dosent even acknowledge anything was sent to it.

You guys have any suggestions or theories?

Let me get this straight........

You were told, "setting up PXE servers would'nt be possible for liablilty reasons" yet you wish to continue doing so.

What part of "liablilty reasons" don't you understand?

If you are looking to get fired, doing something you've been told explicitly not to is the perfect way to accomplish your aim.

I am the captain of my soul.

That's not what he said. He said he wanted to use a PXE boot though a script without having a PXE server. In other words, have the advantage of PXE & still comply to the policy.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
