Hi,Everybody

My computer is part of domain.

I have one LAN connection. IP address 172.100.40.70 ,subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gate Way 172.100.40.1

Another is one internet connection through bluetooth PAN IP address 192.168.0.103, subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gate Way 192.168.0.1.

Problem is when I connect to LAN, internet connection is lost. If I take out LAN cable or disable LAN, I get the internet connection. I want to keep both LAN connection and bluetooth PAN internet connection. Please help me how to do. Please note that I must keep LAN IP address without changing.

I think this will work. Go to your cammand prompt and run the following commands.

route add 172.100.40.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 172.100.40.1 -p
route add 192.168.0.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1 -p
route add 0.0.0.0 MASK 0.0.0.0 172.100.40.1 METRIC 1 -p
route add 0.0.0.0 MASK 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 METRIC 2 -p

This will establish a routing path to both networks and set the metrics on the redundant gateways so they do not conflict.

Note, this is not tested because I don't have the same network as you.

P.S. The route command needs elevaded privileges. If you are on a Windows VISTA or 7 box, make sure you run the Command Prompt as Administrator.

Why do you have a gateway entry on the 172.x.x.x? If 192.x.x.x is your internet connection remove the gateway entry from 172 and it will work as desired.

I am not sure that is the best idea because then every one on the 172 network will not have a gateway anymore unless you redirect them through the 192 gateway but being it is bluetooth, probably not a good idea.

Ace there is no mention of routing thru the pc.

To address this issue;
"I want to keep both LAN connection and bluetooth PAN internet connection."

The standard fix is remove the gateway from the lan connection. This way Windows won't try to use it for passing internet traffic.

hi wanderer,

I must keep the 172.xxxxxx lan connection for my domain server and intranet. I remove Default Gate Way 172.100.40.1 entry by manually assign IP address as
IP address 172.100.40.70
subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gate Way blank( . . . )
It is also not work.
