Packet driver

Specs: MS-DOS 7.1
I want to run Arachne browser for dos but it need a packet driver.
I search internet for hours, but I can't find Packet driver for "Realtek lan RTL8168".
But I do have the ndis drivers for dos.

Go to the realtek site. They are the most supported cards I know of.

I assume you mean a 8169 card.


Not sure you need a packet driver but a tcp/ip implementation. Packet drivers can be used for any protocol.

I already have microsoft tcp/ip installed and working, but how do I get Arachne browser working.

Arachne gives a error no packet driver found.

Barts didn't work, Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk did work

I think I know the problem. Are you using a very old copy of the browser? The newest ought to support tcp/ip.

I am using version 1.95, I tried using Arachne with tcp/ip and statistics ip it didn't work.
