Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, Intel E4500, 3 gig R
I have Clearwire modem at home with no router, and my network is showing six other pcs on it. I've called clearwire and asked how this is happening and not even they could understand it. I would not have ever known this if not for suddenly getting a media icon popping up in the tray, asking to share media files. I have a password on my account and also run AVG free, and yet these other computers keep coming at going at will, using my network. What can I do about this?

Is this a wireless network? Where are you seeing these other connected PC's?

They show on my network. My own computer doesn't show there at all and yet up to six other pcs have shown at any given time. It is a Clearwire Motorola wireless modem attached to my pc by ethernet. These pcs keep popping up and then going off as though these people are using my network, and several times I've gotten a pop-up box requesting to share media with the unknown pcs. I've had to click "deny" each time.

disable the wireless on the modem or at least configure it with a WPA+ passphrase. Looks like neigbors are using your broadband. or call Verizon and get them to correct this MAJOR security issue. In the meantime make sure your windows firewall is enabled.
