Hello,
I am using Oracle VM VirtualBox on my Mac 2013.
It's running Window OS and I connect to my server in the office from home.
I noticed that every hour connection get timed-out and I have to reconnect.
My question:
What could be the problem: 1. setting configuration of my Mac for Oracle VM VirtualBox 2. setting configuration on my remoter server in the office 3. something else ..Thanks
How do you connect to your server in the office? VPN? Some remote access software package?
Is this 1 hour idle or while there is activity?I would check time-out setting on your connection first...
Thanks for reply.
I am connecting via VPN and it happened when I actively working i.e. connecting ..
I use to have VPN disconnections when on WIFI but they were random, not timed. Connected wired solved that problem.
Is this a company VPN setup by the IT department? Or just an individual setup by you?
My company VPN was disconnecting me after a period of time. If memory serves me it was a two hour period and then my VPN would disconnect me.....idle or otherwise. I looked for and found a 'session time limit' setting in my VPN server and changed it for my account to 8 hours since I had to start working from home because of the pandemic. Now it doesn't disconnect me anymore.
Check your VPN for a session time limit setting or something like that.
