No network adaptor after HD reformat ?

Specs: Windows XP, ??
After a severe PC crash (dodgy MS update) I have had to reinstall XP. I have 2 internal HD’s & reinstalled XP on the 2nd one that it was originally installed on as I wanted to try to recover lost data from the 1st one.

Anyway 2nd HD was reformatted & XP installed fine.

The trouble I have now is that I am unable to see my Network Adaptor anywhere. I have a router situated downstairs with a Ethernet cable running wired upstairs to my desktop PC. This all worked fine before crash. I still have a connection to laptop/PS3 etc but obviously nothing on my desktop. The Ethernet cable is plugged in the back of PC but what can I do now for PC to recognise network adaptor? I can not see any icons in INTERNET CONNECTION folder. Is it something to do with reinstalling drivers? How do I do that?

Any ideas

Looks like you need to download the driver for your PC's network card. You may have to d/l it at a different PC, burn it to a disk, then install it on your PC. Go to the mfg's webpage and look for the drivers for your PC model.
