Open a command prompt window (ie: Start >> Run >> type cmd and hit Enter) and perform the following command:

ipconfig /all

Post the output of the command here.

For info on how to copy/paste from a command prompt window, click on my name above and read my "how-to" titled, "Post the output of ipconfig (version 2)"

Ok, the "ipconfig" command shows you're not getting any TCP/IP settings from a DHCP server.

How are you connected to the internet?

1) Highspeed internet modem >> router >> computer

or

2) Highspeed internet modem/router >> computer

or

3) Highspeed internet modem >> computer

Scenario two is when the ISP provides you with a "combination" unit that is a modem and a router in one device.
