Specs: Windows XP, Celeron
I have a Dell PowerEdge850 server with two Gigabit NIC cards running Windows XP pro. The server has NIC-1 connected to the building router (with interenet connection) on a 192.168.xxx.xxx subnet, and NIC-2 connected to the internal LAN for a small system on a 10.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet.

The symptom is that when the NIC-2 is enabled, the NIC-1 card can't communicate to the router on the 192.168.xxx.xxx network. When the NIC-2 is disabled, NIC-1 can communicate freely with the router.

Suggestions?

are you putting a gateway entry on the lan nic? If so don't. Windows will only use one gateway.
