Networking behind University proxy server

Hi. I am at a University that has a proxy server that all Internet traffic has to go through. What I would love to do, if possible, is to set up a wireless network in the dorm room that somehow routes all activity through the proxy server and in turn allows me to leave my computer's proxy settings off. This would allow me to use apps that don't allow custom proxy settings. I use macs and pcs and can purchase any hardware that would be necessary. I currently have a linksys wireless n router and a apple airport. Is this even possible?? Thanks!

The router should be all that is required for establishing a lan however you need to carefully read the university IT use policy document since in many cases they specifically prohibit sharing the connection. They have the capability to detect attempted installation of this type of equipment.

You said, "This would allow me to use apps that don't allow custom proxy settings." and I can't help but be curious. What app's are you talking about here? Please, name them for me.
