Specs: Windows XP
I have two PC's running Windows XP connected to a router.I have no problem accessing the internet from either. However,I have run the Network setup wizard in both machines, yet when I go to Network Places each only shows itself as on the network. They both show the same workgroup name also. What am I doing wrong?

You have to enable shares and any firewalls also have to allow that access.

I prefer to use private IP addresses and I like to access shares by ip address \\ipaddress\sharename.

example \\192.168.2.4\myshare

\\10.0.0.4\folder

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Check out this simple file sharing or share file with user/group permission in XP pro articles, check to see any missing configuration.
