Hi Everyone

I have a problem, I design a MS access database. But I am having a problem linking up the computer to work. The back-end of the database is on a Windows server 2003. I have managed to connect to Windows XP computer to the database.

I am having trouble trying to connect a third XP computer, when i try access it in windows it is asking for an user name and password?

Second trying to connect a windows 7 to the server, it also asking for user name and password?

I am not sure what to from there, networking I know very little about. Thnak you for your help.

Things have changed a bit in Windows 7 from XP with regard to networking so let's gather some info and see where to start troubleshooting this issue you're having:

- Are you able to ping the database (db) computer from the Windows 7 computer?
- Are you able to ping the XP computer from the Windows 7 computer?
- Are you able to access any other resources on the db computer from the Windows 7 computer?
- Is this an Active Directory based domain, or a Workgroup?
- Is the user account used to logon to the XP computer the same as the one used to logon to the db computer? (ie: username/password) If yes, is the Windows 7 computer using the same credentials to login as the other two?

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

Do you have enough licenses, to connect that amount of client computers to the server?
