I have a Phaser 560 extended laser printer that i would like to install as a network printer because I didn't get any of other cables with this printer. I printed out the configuration page and found out the ip address. But my router just sees the mac address. I am very confused by this matter any advice would be greatly appreciated

What's about the IP address of your printer?
Is it an IP address of your network?

If not, you have to configure a IP address of your network for that printer.
For how to do this, read the printers manual.

My Ip address is 169.168.1.2
My Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
My default gateway is 192.168.1.1
My ip address for my network printer is
10.11.140.29
I have inputted the subnet and gateway addresses into the printer. But even when I change the ip address to another address my router still only sees the mac address for the printer.

You have to change the printers ip address from 10.11.140.29 to 192.168.1.x, so x is a not used number.

After that, try to ping your printer and report back.
