netgear router internet light is not lit

July 7, 2011 at 00:46:31
Specs: Windows XP
I recently reset my router as I did not know my password and I needed to find out what the WEP was. Now the internet light will not come on. I have followed instructions on setting up the router as if it were new and still no luck.

Is it a router, or a modem router? (if it has an internet light then I suspect it's the latter). As you've reset it you will need to re-enter the logon username and password for your isp before you can connect to the internet.

Thank you that fixed the problem. Now how do I find out what the WEP is. My laptop thinks it needs one and I don't think I am set up with one

WEP is an encryption type....and not a very good one at that. When setting up your wireless network, do yourself a favor and use WPK encryption instead.
