How to instal an Ethernet card to an hp5150S desktop replacement of nonfunctionable Ethernet , but however it did not come with software or installation instructions?! The new replacement LAN card fits exsactly like the old one with the exception of a wire with a small connector at the rear of the card? Not know exsactly what or where if necessary to instal this connector"? Help please I'm at my witty end!!

There should be no wires with an Ethernet card, just a card with a socket on the back. Do you have any details of it - make, model - or a picture?

I'm wondering if it is actually a wireless network card.

See if you can find the make or model number. You may just install the card into the slot and fire up the computer and see if your operating system automatically installs the correct driver, it's worth a shot. If it is not automatically picked up by the computer and you cannot find a make or model number on the card, it may be less stressful to spend the $10 or $15 on a new card with the proper disk.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!

I'm responding to your other question here as it's a bit confusing to start two threads on the same topic.

If there was a driver on your PC for the new Ethernet card it should have been found automatically. Your best bet is to answer the questions asked of you in this thread. That way someone may be able to provide further assistance.
