Specs: Macintosh OS leopard
New Cisco linkSYS wizard won't connect. error message
323. says"restore the factory defaults for your gateway"
What's a gateway and how do I restore it??

If it's new, you shouldn't need to reset it. There is a pin hole to reset it to factory defaults.

Didn't work. Tried twice, reset the button, restart computer.
Same message. Error message also says " requires your
gateway to be configured with the default username and
password.

did you follow the steps in the router manual for setting up the router?
for example did you first document what type of internet connection you have and its ip settings?
Have you ever logged into the router before?
Is there a network cable between your pc and the router?

Also, when resetting a router, you don't just press and release the reset button. You have to press and hold for 10 seconds....then release.

Make sure, your computer gets ip address automatically.

Guys we don't even know if he is cabled to the router or what. Don't you think resetting the router is a bit premature?
