Specs: Windows 7

Someone nearby has a wireless router that my computer will try to connect to when ever it comes in range. Its rather annoying as it stops my connection to our wireless router. I have out wireless router set up for our home network which is secured using encryption and mac identification etc and I think this other network is secured as well as it never connects successful but will often appear its connected to both (ticked box for connect automatically). How can I stop it from doing this as it drops our home connection alot while it trys to connect to this other network and the other network never shows in the network and sharing centre just in the pop up box at the bottom of the task bar.

Depending on what software you have that looks for wireless networks, you should be able to set it to ignore a particular network (or networks).

Have a look through all the settings and see if that isn't possible.

change from auto for channel selection and set for a channel not in common with anyone in your area.
