There have been a number of posts on the forum about Nooks not connecting to wifi.
I don't have one but had a similar issue with a Kobo touch and WEP security. It would connect unsecured or with WPA and the manual said it was WEP compatible but it just would not connect. I complained to Kobo and a few weeks later they came out with a new firmware update that resolved the issue. My suggestion is to seek answers from Nook support.

Just to add to what Richard59 said, should you opt for trying unsecured or WPA encryption, I highly recommend you go with the WPA encryption. If you don't, you leave your wireless network wide open and anybody could then use it and potentially hack your network.

I agree. If you can switch to WPA then do so. I have a couple of older devices that are only WEP compatible so I have retained WEP despite the fact it is only slightly less vulnerable than an open connection.
