Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, 3 GHz / 1919 MB

Sometime early today the computer would not connect to the internet after a restart.
I am able to connect manually but at the next restart it is not connected. What would cause this behavior?

I'm assuming here that you're referring to a wireless connection, which also gives me that problem on occasions, but my wireless laptop is running Vista, not Win7.
My Win7 PC doesn't use wireless for internet access so I can't comment on that aspect of win7.

However, I suggest you check your laptop manufacturer's website for a newer driver for the wireless adapter, and make sure you've installed the Service Pack 1 for Win7.
If you've got "Automatic Updates" enabled you've most likely already got it.

Solved this by restoring a backup image. I know it's a wimpy way, but did no want to spend hours trying to find the error.
