I'm guessing you connect wirelessly to the wireless network your boyfriend setup. If yes, while connected open a command prompt window on your computer (ie: Start >> Run >> type cmd and hit Enter) and enter the following command in there:

ipconfig /all

Make note of the Default Gateway address in the output of the above command. This setting is the IP address of the wireless router.

Once you have that IP, open a web browser and enter that IP in the URL field to connect to the router's management interface. You'll have to login so your boyfriend needs to remember if he password protected the management interface or not. The default for most SOHO Router's I've worked with is:
username: admin
password: admin

username: admin
password: blank (as in, leave this blank, do not enter a password at all)

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
