Specs: Windows XP
my internet connection is unstable, it keeps disconnecting and connecting intermittently every few minutes. I have tried going into settings and disabling and then enabling LAN with no success. I have uninstalled drivers and then installed with no success. Any further ideas? (Have windows XP) From LP

Im assuming your connecting to your router/modem via ethernet cable not wireless. Is your internet connection dropping out or your connection to the lan?
Post what you get from a ping -n 50 www.google.com.au from the command line. To access the command line: start - run - cmd - then type ping -n 50 www.google.com.au
You can copy and paste the output.
It could be a lot of things. Firstly you could have a dodgy cable. Check that your cable is not damaged and that the RJ45's at the end are terminated correctly.
Have you tried connecting to the internet on another computer? If this is posible give it a try. This will rule out your router.
Are you using a filter on your line?
Reset your modem/router and reconfigure it like you did to set it up.
