Specs: Windows 7
After resetting my cable modem Symphony 602 , I can't access to the modem configuration.
"Local are connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration"
No default gateway .
Is there any way that I don't have to create a WAN Miniport PPPoE to access to internet ?
Thank you

No. PPPoE is what links you to your ISP and without a link to an ISP you are not going anywhere.

Which means you have to call your ISP to get this operational.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

You are still going to have to use PPP of some kind. PPP stands for Point to Point Protocol. It is the protocol that connects you to you ISP, it does amongst other things, the authentication of your password. It is essential.

The WAN Miniport is part of that process If you were behind a router and not connecting your Modem directly to you PC you would not see the WAN Mini Port. The router would handle it all.

Why do you not want to use the WAN Miniport?

Because the connection is not simple and automaticaly like before and also it didn't work on the other computers at home .AlsoThey told me you have to change MTU amount if one day somebody can setup your modem .

Once it is up and running it is very easy to change router MTU setting to whatever is recommended by your ISP. I've sometimes found that departing from their suggested setting can work better - long story LOL.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
