Specs: Linux red flag
Hello,

I have a question regarding linux red flag command shell.
I need to install sap abap netweaver for linux - it should be done like his:

Concatenate the seven files by opening up the shell and typing in the command:

cat N4S_TestDrive_MaxDB.iso_Part_a* > N4S_TestDrive_MaxDB.iso

there is 7 files (plus txt installation guideline as above) N4S_TestDrive_MaxDB.iso_Part_aa, ab,ac,ad,ae,af,ag

When I put this in the shell the result is as following:

N4S_TestDrive_MaxDB.iso_Part_a* : No such file or directory

I am completely new to Linux so maybe it is a stupid question but can you give me an advice how to concatenate those files?

Many thanks.

Make sure, that you are in the directory, where the files N4S_TestDrive_MaxDB.iso_Part_a* are stored.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

Ok, depending on the user, who is logged in, the desktop is located in:

for user root:
/root/Desktop

for any other user:
/home/username/Desktop
where username is the login name of the logged in user

In the command shell you can change the directory like this:
cd /home/username/Desktop

You can list the available folders like this:
ls -l
or
ls -la
to list also the hidden files and folders

The current working directory, the folder you are just in, can be shown with:
pwd

Hope that helps.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
