September 25, 2011 at 20:08:15
Specs: Windows 7
Good Day, My Wireless Router Loses power after, more or less, 1 minute after start up. After plugging in the router to the power outlet, It Starts up (Lights go on) , then after a while, it loses power.

Notes:
1.) when no LAN cable from the modem is connected. It doesn't lose power
2.) when the LAN cable is plugged in, the router loses power after a while.

Please Help me identify the problem. Thank you.

What do you mean by "loses power"?

If you mean the power quits and the unit shuts down, that's a hardware issue, replace the unit.

If you mean the wireless stops working properly, but computers plugged in with a network cable to a LAN port are still able to surf and communicate just fine, then that's another issue entirely and has nothing to do with power.

If the latter is the case, try updating the firwmare to the most recent version available if it isn't already up-to-date. If that doesn't fix the issue, try resetting it to factory defaults (manual has this information) and reconfigure it.

If none of the above works, replace it.

Before you replace the unit, you might want to test and see if it's the power adapter. Simply find another one exactly the same as yours and try it. If the problem goes away, you have a bad adapter. While not common, it's not unheard of. An adapter should cost less than a router.

If problem persists with a known good adapter, then you will have to replace the unit.
