Right click "My Computer", select Properties, then the Hardware tab, device Manager. Does the wifi have the red x through it there as well (Microsoft Key + pause/break key) is the short cut to device manager if you have those keys. Try right clicking on the wifi adapter and "enable", make sure it is enabled.

✔ Best Answer
Is there a button or toggle FN switch to turn on the wifi?

Found this on a website - rather basic but thought I should throw it in:

To make wireless network working you must match three conditions:

1) Drivers are installed (no yellow marks in Device Manager)

2) Hardware switch is ON (on right side of notebook, near power cord)

3) Fn+F5 utility is working.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Try out following and see if could help you to locate the root cause:

-Make sure the wireless adapter driver is installed and it works well as shown here

-Go to wireless adapter manufacturer website and see if you could find latest adapter driver, go ahead to install it if there is.

-If the wireless adapter driver works well and nothing you have done incorrectly, go to wireless router management page and play with wireless settings and see if it helps. I did this and it worked on some of my old wireless adapter before.

Re your screen shot. I see there is some error showing under the "Other" heading. I assume this is Other Unknown. If you can't work out what this is, then Uninstall it from Device Manager. If it is valid when you restart the computer it might correct it, otherwise it will be removed. See if this error still appears afterwards and whether it has any affect on your Wifi issue.
