laptop wireless conn

Specs: windows vista, 4gig
Ihave 3 desktop comps connected to cable modem via a d-link 524 router

i want to be able to use a laptop wirelessly frn the same internent a/c
do i need added h'ware eg wireless network card ? my rouete is cinfigured to use wireless?
i'm seeing/ getting a lot of conflicting info
i get a message sayibf no wirekess device/conn eg found

Yes, if you want to connect wirelessly to your router than the laptop must have some sort of wireless hardware, be it an adapter installed inside of your laptop or an external wireles usb device.

I have an order laptop so I had to purchase a wireless usb device .
Most of today's laptops should come with a wirelss adapter built inside of it.

the laptop has wifi hardware
what i need to know is do i need any h'eare for my comp not the laptop
