Laptop unable to connect to wireless network

Specs: Windows 7
I have a dell inspiron 1545 and my internet was working fine last night. My laptop restarted at some point during the night and now it can't connect to my normal wireless network. when I use my phone as a wifi hotspot, my laptop can connect to it. My desktop connects to my home's wireless network fine so I'm not sure why my laptop, which can connect to other networks fine, can't connect to my working home network. I am so excessively dumb when it comes to computers so I'm sorry if I'm lacking a ton of information but I'm not sure what I need to put.

the first thing you should do is to check and see if you have a switch on your computer that turns the wireless network on and off.
