mmm...

Do you have the same problem with other browsers (Firefox for example)?

Long shots - but who know they may resolve it?...

Clear history and cookies; then test...

If no joy - temporarily disable anti-virus and test. If no joy immediately re-enable virus utility.

"I can access BBC sites on my iPad but not my laptops using the same wifi"
Check your iPad settings against the laptop settings.

In other words, your internet settings should be the same, including those in your firewall.

Turn the router off for about half a minute. I have known that fix problems of a similar nature, often on one machine only.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

What happens when you go to BBC sites and does exactly the same thing happen on all of your laptops?

Hi Derek, I get this message on both laptops

"This site can’t be reached
www.bbc.com took too long to respond."

There is no problem with my iPad or phone. I have deleted cookies and history, turned off my firewall, rebooted laptops and router. Someone suggested that it may be an issue with my ISP. They deny this. Others think that BBC itself may be blocking me. I have sent a message to their support but no response yet.

I can look at these logs for clues.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.

If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt)
The logs are large, upload them using Data File Host ( No account/registration needed ) or upload to a site of your choosing. Give us the links please.
