Laptop internet to pc using cable?

December 28, 2010 at 22:36:42
Specs: Windows 7
My laptop and pc both run windows 7. I was wondering if it is possible to get internet from my laptop using an ethernet cable (i dont have a crossover) to my pc. My house only has wifi and my pc is to far from the router to make running a cable feasible. Is there a way to get the wireless internet from my laptop to my pc?

I would suggest to simply buy a wireless card or a wireless usb stick for your pc, to connect it to your wireless router.

Therefore you need a crossover cable to connect you computer to the laptop. You also have to install and configure ICS (Internet connection service) to your laptop, to share the internet with other computers.
But all these things are needless, when you get the wireless network card or stick and must be reconfigured or uninstalled later, to avoid other network problems.

I would suggest to wait for the new wireless adapter, it's worth.
