LAN connection gone.

Specs: Windows XP
After a full format/reinstall of OS, I have no local area connections and in my device mngr it has yellow question marks next to all my drivers for vid, sound, and and ethernet controllers. I tried to update drives via hardware wiz but it cant find anything and wants to connect to the internet to find the appropriate drivers.....BUT I CANT GET ON WITHOUT THE DRIVERS FOR THE ETHERNET CARD :-/ very frustraited please help.

That's a common mistake. People format the drive without thinking about the drivers. Download the drivers using another PC, burn them to a CD & install them.

Noobish question. How do I know what the right drivers are? Ive tried a few diferent ones and have had no luck. Also, i think the onboard ethernet jack is disabled via the bios but I have no idea how to re-enable it. Its not listed in the device manager so I assume I must do so via the bios ( which I know not a lot about at the moment. )

I don't think you need to touch the BIOS. If it's an onboard chip, you need to know what mother board you have. If you don't know, open the box & look. If you don't want to do that, buy a PCI NIC & install it.
