Your Kindle is probably asking for the wireless password, or to give it it's proper name, Wireless Encryption Key.

It should be printed on the router at the back or underneath it, or you can get it by opening the router's configuration utility in a web browser and going to the wireless settings section.

Just to add to what phil22 said, once you enter the correct password, you won't need to again. The device will store that for you. Which is probably why you're thinking you didn't have to before. You did it once, but never had to again.

I am the captain of my soul.
