|My understanding of Godaddy is they are great at hosting a web site and they can give your web site a static ip, [ there are questions concerning their ability to actually supply static ip].|
but hosting a home game server vs a hosted web site are two very different things.
this appears to be a shortcoming of the game. after all if chosen by name it works. this allows the ISP to change the ip as needed. They just update dns and when asked by name walla you are there.
It certainly can be done but someone has to provide the ip and be able to edit public dns to get what you want.
Now if you could publish your game by the currect ip address that might make it easier for those wanting to join the game to do so by ip address.
ipchicken can tell you your ip.
