IP notifier to access live mail

Specs: Windows XP Home edit, 1024 MB
ok i'm trying to set up an email notifier to access my live account (i think it's like hotmail )in order to send me the IP but it doesn'T seem to work i don't think i've set the mail server right. The currentconfiguration for it is: mail.hotmail.com
is it right false? please help

I'm pretty sure Live Mail and Hotmail don't give you direct SMTP/POP access which is what you need.

would it be more efficient to use another email provider yahoo gmail BTW the program uses just SMTP.

Yahoo doesn't offer free SMTP/POP either. GMail does.

You might also look at DynDns.org witch will give you a subdomain (something.dyndns.org) which will always point to your computer. They provide a free utility that will update their records when your IP changes so the subdomain always works.
