Solved IP address keeps dropping out frequently after Win10 upgrade

Dell Studio xps 8100
September 22, 2015 at 08:30:11
Specs: Windows 10, Intel i7/6GB
Recently upgraded to Win 10. Frequently my IP address drops or my card is "disabled". Usually, I can run the adapter diagnostic and it comes back on line. Some times I have to reset the Modem/Router(Netgear AC1900). And some times I have to restart my PC. Some times I go for several days with no problem and then it may happen 2 or 3 times in a day. All devices show updated drivers. Router shows connection, but Windows says no internet connection. This happens on my desktop Ethernet and wireless connections, too. My iPhone and iPad doesn't seem to be affected. Any ideas?

Wes

✔ Best Answer
"All devices show updated drivers"

I would be inclined to double check the drivers for your Ethernet and Wifi with your computer manufacturers. Look out particularly for Windows 10 drivers.

It would also be worthwhile checking for the latest firmware for your router. I realise it works OK with your other devices but if there is anything available it might help Win 10.

Thanks, Derek,
Hadn't thought about the router firmware. Although, I changed out the modem/router because I was having this problem. I'll check the firmware anyway and let you know.
I did update the adapter.
Thanks again.

Logged into router, but could not find a way to update firmware from there. Guess I'll have to go to their website.
Just got knocked off again as I started to go to this site.

Zerg.net says there are internet issues with Win 10. Will ck these out later. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Well post any solution I find.

Wes
