How was the network setup before the problem? (if you remember)
To make XP and Win7 net-work:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ph/...

Check the firewall on XP and win7 if ports are open.

XP does not recognize the 'HomeGroup' style that is native to Windows 7 and probably Vista, you need to use the older style settings and make sure that the Workgroup name on all computers are the same. Then you will need to make sure that each user is included in the list and their rights are set. It has been a while since I had set up a mixed network with Windows 7 and an older XP machine so I probably have missed some detail.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

What have you tried so far?
Reboot the XP machine?
Reset the Uverse modem/router?
Any other routers in between?
