Internet keeps disconnecting

Specs: Windows 7
My internet keeps disconnecting. This happens several times per day. I can re-establish a connection if I turn off the wireless router and take out the phone line and then restart the router and put the lead back in. I am using a Netgear DG834G V2. This has been going on for some time, so is not down to current weather. Any ideas?

Try following:

- Upgrade router firmware by downloading latest router firmware from vendor website if possible
- Play with advanced wireless settings on wireless router in order to improve wireless network performance

Thanks picohat. Have downloaded and uploaded latest firmware. Hope it makes a difference. Didn't know what to do re. advanced wireless settings, so didn't do anything on that score.

Have now installed latest firmware. but problem persists. I noticed that the light that looks like a question mark sometimes flashes orange colour. What does that mean?

I just afraid your router is broken. You can try to reset and reconfigure it again, and see how it goes.

In addition, you can take a look on the other factors that could affect wireless network performance and ways to fix them..
