Internet connectivity issues - Possible DNS

Specs: Windows 7, i7 960// 6GB Corsair Dominator GT
A few weeks back I switched on my PC one morning, opened up Google Chrome as per usual and no websites would load. Strange, but as my router is often temperamental I put it down to this. So restarted the router and still nothing. Tried Firefox and it worked fine. Strange again.

Uninstalled Chrome, re-downloaded it and went to reinstall. However, it wouldn't get past the initial Initializing stage. Giving me an error message along the lines of "Please ensure you're connected to the internet". Which I was.
Next, I try accessing iTunes store - works fine. So I try different 3rd party internet access programs. (Excuse the gaming programs... :D)
Curse client (Updates Warcraft addons) - Can't connect
World of Warcraft Updater - Can't connect
Built in Apple software downloader - Can't connect
Any install package that get's setup information from the internet (.net framework etc) - Can't connect.

After doing some of my own research I had a browse over the DNS settings in the cmd prompt. Apparently there was no DNS found. Aha! My problem might be resolved. So I followed the guide and flushed my DNS. Popped in ipconfig again and got all the normal results. Went to try Chrome again - No cigar, same with the other applications.
I've tried manually using Google DNS in my connection settings, that doesn't work either.

I'm reasonably knowledgable with Software/Hardware most of the time, but by no means a network expert. I'm stuck as to what to try now.

Incidentally, I'm using Comodo Firewall, Avast AV, Spybot SD Resident as my active protection. Tried using the apps without these activated and still no success....

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)
